Verizon Mini Stories

As I sit at battery park city I’m very pleased with Verizon’s service. It has never failed me. I’m usually all Over the city, with 5 to 6 bars of reception. Many tourists in the area were complaining of phone signal issues. I even had to lend my phone to a few people who had to call their families who got lost in NYC, which for me was we a pleasure. They complimented the phone case and the clarity of the call and reception. I also added that I was Verizon’s Digital Ambassador so of course, it was a win-win for me. The tourists are from Spain and it was their first time in the city. They had a prepaid service and literally had no reception (only 1-2 bars). They said they were going to recommend the service to family members here.

Another of my stories is when I was walking the Brooklyn Bridge, a newly married couple who have visited the city on a few occasions needed directions around their way in Dumbo. I first asked what was wrong with their cell service (of course the New Yorker in me) then responded and said the data was very slow. I told them you’re in the middle of a bridge and thousands of people are crossing it as we speak it happens with the other guys. I told them Verizon’s data capabilities speeds are one of the nation’s best, with speeds of download of  79Mbps and uploads of 20Mbps.

On a hot summer day while in at Fire Island, I decided to stream music from my Samsung Edge 7. My Brothers all have different competing networks. Luckily for me, I have the fastest one. We streamed Pandora and took photos while spending the whole day at the beach. But one by one each phone started to drain or overheat. My phone kept up to standards and it’s also IP68 water and Dust Resistance, which is a huge advantage for many reasons. Overall I’m completely satisfied with my Verizon service. I’m proud to be part of their team!

Fast Growing NYC

Fast Growing Companies Based in NYC

New York is the largest city in the United States and it’s the center of the North American business world. Therefore, it should not be surprising that New York is also the base of operations for many of the fastest-growing companies on the planet. Many of these companies are in the tech industry. There seems to be new and exciting startups that are being launched every day. Here are a few of the companies based in New York City that are growing substantially.

  1. StartApp   screenshot-2016-09-27-14-54-54

This is a company that specializes in creating advertisements that can be found in various tablet and smartphone mobile apps. There are many other competing companies in this particular industry. Facebook and Google are both heavily involved in it. However, that has not stopped StartApp’s overall revenue from increasing by almost 22,000 percent during the previous three years. One of the reasons this company has been able to grow at such a rapid rate is the fact that it was the first company that focused on creating advertisements that were made only for a mobile device. Ad companies had previously just made desktop banner ads smaller.

  1. Handy newhandy

Handy is a company that has revolutionized the cleaning industry. The company has a large staff of professional cleaners who can clean your office or home. Appointments can be made for the next day. Clients do not need to wait for several days or a week for a cleaning crew to show up. They also take great pride in the work they perform. They will refund money to clients who are not totally satisfied.

  1. Eyeview  screenshot-2016-09-27-14-57-45

Eyeview is also part of the booming adtech industry. However, this company’s specialty is creating ads that are completely video. The demand for video ads has increased significantly during the past several years. Eyeview has been one of the leading companies when it comes to meeting this demand. Revenue for the company increased 55 times from 2011 to 2014. This company shows no signs of slowing down because video ads are becoming more popular every day.

  1. NewsCred  Screenshot 2016-09-27 15.01.46.png

This is a marketing company. They offer their clients different methods than the ones that are usually utilized by other marketing companies. This new approach to marketing has attracted some of the largest companies in the world. They now have Hewlett Packard, Visa and Pepsi among their impressive list of regular clients.

  1. AdTheorent  screenshot-2016-09-27-15-10-34

This NYC company makes advertisements that are specifically for mobile devices. They use a special system that ensures ads are only shown to the target audience of the company that is doing the advertising. This type of technology uses a data mining system that has become the envy of the adtech industry. Their list of clients continues to grow because of the very positive word of mouth they have received.

Edge 7

So after 6 months with the Samsung Edge 7, I will finally  review it. Talk about perfect timing with the release of the iPhone 7 just last week 🙂 I feel to really give a review you should test it for a certain amount of time and not within a few days or weeks.

The Edge 7 offers a beautiful curved 5.5in Super AMOLED screen 1,440 x 2,560 Quad HD resolution. It includes an Octa-core 1.6GHz Samsung Exynos 8890 processor. It has a pixel index of 534ppi compared to iPhones 6s which has 401ppi. Converting from an iPhone to an android device can be a bit tricky in the beginning. Being accustomed to a certain OS takes a bit of time to get unused to. The transferring of data from my iPhone to the S7 Edge was a breeze. One of the advantages of a Droid device is you can access any file and actually control the phone (themes) and its features. Unlike the iPhone where your abilities to maneuver or personalize your phone are restricted.

America’s Best Network

One of the features I fell in love with was, of course, the rear 12megapixel lens with f/1.7 dual pixel sensor and phase-detect autofocus. Every picture you take is crisp clear. The ability to take photos in a low lighted area is a brilliant feature that iPhone 6s don’t have yet. Samsung also included a sweet Pro mode feature, which enables you to fully control every aspect of your photo.  I boosted my storage space to 256gb using a sd card. I can also record in 4K quality . Did I mention it’s dust and water-resistant (IP68) . The advantage with storage SD cards is that you can interchange them as soon as they are filled up. The fast charge or wireless charging can juice up your 3,600mAh battery in about an hour and a half.  More details HERE.

Overall I think the S7 Edge is a fine piece of technology and investment. With Virtual Capabilities (not yet tested by me). Smartphones are only going to get much more sophisticated and are being pushed to the limit. Please check for my future posts which will include the Virtual Gear from Samsung!
