A Man’s Perspective

A Man’s Perspective: Best Fall Looks for The Ladies

While it’s still very amusing to watch grown women get so excited about the fall season, I will say that autumn is a good time of year. The leaves are changing, the weather is cooler and the women are running to Starbucks to get anything with pumpkin in it. All jokes aside, have you ever wondered what a man’s take is on women’s fall/winter fashions?  I am about to reveal which fall fashions guys go crazy over, and which ones we don’t.

It comes to no surprise that we love skin tight leggings on women. We love a woman who is comfortable in her own skin. Leggings coupled with dresses or skirts are always eye-catching. Some may think it’s too basic others will say it’s about the comfort, what’s your take?

Most men, including myself, are big fans of boots (Cowboys are my fav!) The knee high boots that make women’s legs look a mile long are sexy. Ankle booties paired with a dress or skirt creates a very sexy outfit. Even a pair of Ugg boots with leggings and a sweater is a nice outfit. Boots are a go!

Men love a woman in a dress! I KNOW I DO!! I think this goes beyond any specific season, but there are some fun dresses to play around with in the fall. A few options include an oversized t-shirt dress with leggings, a sweater dress with ankle booties, or a formal dress with heels. Dresses are always in style and men are certain to take notice.

Skin and Lips

Yes, your skincare and lips are part of your fall wardrobe. With the season change, the air is much drier and colder; this can cause dryness, redness, and peeling. Take it from me I  dislike that uncomfortable feeling. Your skin is one of the first things that anyone notices about you. Taking extra care to keep your skin and lips moisturized will add a beautiful element to your fall wardrobe. Cocoa or Shea butter can help keep your skin moisturized while EOS lip balm can provide hours of moisture for your lips. Men instantly take notice of healthy glowing skin and lips.

This may come as a surprise, but men love hats on women. Beanies, floppy brim hats or a baseball cap. Men find hats a very sexy and confident look. Make sure to stock your closet with lots of great hats this season. I know I love my many hats! 🙂

Have fun this fall with your wardrobe. Following these few trends are sure to get you a few second glances and maybe a formal invite to dinner!

Subscription Services

Three Subscription Services You Should Try

Subscription services are all the rage right now. There are monthly subscriptions for everything from food items to Star Wars collectibles, and the number of services is growing each month. The great thing about a subscription box is that, in most cases, the person receiving the box doesn’t know what is inside until it arrives, which makes them feel like they are getting a birthday or Christmas gift every month.

Sorting out the best subscription service products can be difficult, so here is a brief list of some of the better services available.

  1. Fabletics screenshot-2016-09-26-19-32-30

There seems to be a big misconception that subscription services are mainly used by male geeks and fanboys. Fabletics has proven that young women like subscription boxes, too. Fabletics is the creation of actress Kate Hudson. The company specializes in monthly boxes which contain a complete outfit of active wear for women. The clothes are stylish and coordinated, and many monthly selections are handpicked by Hudson herself and reminiscent of her own exquisite taste. The box is affordably priced at just $49.95 per month on a recurring subscription, and VIP members also have the option of making single purchases whenever they desire.

  1. Loot Crate  Screenshot 2016-09-26 19.33.50.png

Loot Crate is the premier subscription box for all things related to pop culture. This box celebrates comic books, action figures, video games, and popular film franchises like Harry Potter and The Avengers. Each monthly box includes an exclusive t-shirt that can’t be purchased anywhere else, and there are often other exclusives in the box that are designed just for Looters. Subscriptions can be purchased on a monthly recurring basis for less than $20, and there are discounts for purchasing memberships of three, six, and twelve months.

  1. BarkBox  screenshot-2016-09-26-19-35-04

Even pets can get in on the subscription box craze with BarkBox, a monthly subscription which delivers four or five unique pet gifts and treats which are curated to reflect a specific theme. The items of a BarkBox can include a variety of chew toys, all-natural snacks, and even house training aids for owners. The service will even permit returns of any item that does not meet with pet or owner approval. Boxes start at $20 per month and owners can specify things such as their pet’s allergies to ensure a perfect box.

Hot Companies I’m Keeping an Eye On!

Working online has its advantages. One of them is you are often able to keep current with business trends. Here are a few companies yours truly stumbled upon while researching assignments:

Lime Crime

This is a cosmetic company born in New York, New York and headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Some sources consider this to be “a super cool company”. It was founded by Doe Deere, legally known as Xenia Vorotova, who is also the CEO and owner. It launched in October of 2008. Deere started with nothing more than a line of several brushes, glitters, eyeshadows and a primer. She was soon expanding the line to include her distinct Unicorn Lipsticks and more.

On their website this company, which was praised by Inc. com, states that they work to bring businesses and data analysts together. They are headquartered in Santa Cruz, California. This data-driven company was founded by Lloyd Tabb and Ben Porterfield in February 2012. Those currently owning stock in Looker report that the company is on the fast track and doing “extremely well.”

DoorDash, Instacart and Uber get most of the attention when it comes to what some refer to as “last-mile delivery of goods.” Nevertheless, Postmates, headquartered in San Francisco, California, is said to be rapidly expanding. Recently leaked financial records confirm this fact. Another favorite hot company of Inc. com, the business was co-founded by Sam Street, Sean Plaice and Bastian Lehmann in 2011. Postmates continues to grow thanks to the efforts of a passionate group of designers, engineers, growth and operations specialists.

This is another San Francisco, California-based business. They focus on simplifying today’s confusing customer-communication challenge that numerous web-based businesses struggle. Although this is a significantly-sized market, Inc. com reports that Intercom is doing well in terms of both service and sales. Founded in 2011, their product line includes such products and services as feedback, live chat, marketing and support.

Forbes considers Syntel to be both a hot company and one of the “Top Ten” companies in terms of hiring too. Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, they are a “multinational provider” of business and integrated technology services. Syntel was founded in 1980 by the chairman of the board, majority stockholder and ex-CEO Bharat Desai and his wife Neerja Sethi. The company is also a certified minority-owned business or MBE.
